Flame retardants were initially introduced to do as the name states – retard flames. The problem is that to do so, harsh chemicals were deployed. This results in a huge negative and accumulative impact on our global health and global environment due to their toxic nature, as well as the inability to recycle associated materials.

The technology behind D-PYRE® was developed over more than 15 years of research at SINTEF, Norway’s main research institution and one of Europe’s largest independent research organizations. Since 2018 the technology of D-PYRE® has been the focus of our company’s R&D team.
D-PYRE® has a wide range of application areas, including:
- Construction materials (wall sheeting, roofing, insulation foam, and flooring)
- Electrical and electronic products
- Transportation products (seats, bumpers, parts of automotives/airplanes)
- Textile and furniture products
D-PYRE® remove or heavily reduce the use of ATO (antimony trioxide) and ATH (alumina trihydrate)
D-PYRE® is a low mix ratio/dosage, with a potentially low cost and a potential profit opportunity compared to conventional flame retardants
When D-PYRE® is added to cables, artificial leather, roofing, flooring, technical textiles, and general PVC compounds, these materials increase their recyclability
